Stock Up On Vidalia Onions for Grilling Season

Vidalia onions add a distinctive flavor to burgers and salads, but cooking best showcases the sweet taste of Vidalia onions. Since they are is season and plentiful, now is the best time enjoy them.

Try this recipe to bake Vidalia onions in the oven or on the grill. The taste of a baked Vidalia onion is hard to explain and best experienced first-hand, however, the flavor reminds me of a rich, slightly caramelized onion ring without the greasy crust.

The baked onion is delicious on its own, but you can make a dipping sauce to accompany it. Here are two different recipes that are supposed to mimic the sauce for the Bloomin' Onion. Let me know if the AllRecipe one or the RecipeZaar copy tastes better.
