Is it a taco or tostada?

Crispy tacos are the inspiration for this month's pizza recipe. Refried beans, spicy taco meat and shredded cheese top a thin pizza crust. The finished pizza looks more like a giant tostada than a taco. Whether you call it taco pizza or tostada pizza, it's September's pizza of the month.

Use a seasoning mix or your favorite spices to season the ground meat for the pizza. Here is an easy recipe to make taco seasoning using ingredients from your pantry.

Spicy Taco Meat Recipe

1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil

2 tablespoons minced onion
1 pound lean ground meat

2 tablespoons chili powder

½ teaspoon cumin

½ teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon (pinch) cayenne pepper

2 teaspoons salt

3 tablespoons flour

1/3 cup water

Add one tablespoon of olive oil to a medium skillet over medium heat. Add minced onion and ground meat. Cook over medium to high heat, using a spatula to break the meat into small pieces as it cooks.

After the meat is fully cooked drain the grease and reduce the heat to low. Combine seasonings and flour. Stir into the meat. Stir in the water and continue cooking until the mixture thickens, about five minutes.
